Preston New Road closed after bike crash

A pedestrian is being treated for head injuries after a collision with a motorbike closed a key road into Blackpool.

The pedestrian and motorcyclist collided close to the Clifton Arms pub on Preston New Road at 3.10pm this afternoon.

Police have closed both lanes of the westbound carriageway near the junction with Mythop Road and Kentmere Drive following the accident.

Both the pedestrian and motorcyclist were being treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police said the pedestrian had suffered head injuries.

Both lanes of Preston New Road into Blackpool have been closed, causing tailbacks.
