Pregnant driver collides with truck

A pregnant motorist was taken to hospital after the car she was driving was in collision with a recovery truck.

The 28-year was driving a black BMW 520 Sport along St Andrews Road South, St Annes.

Paramedics attended and the woman, who was complaining of pains, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

It was discovered she had not received any serious injuries.

Police said the driver of the truck was shaken and treated for cuts to his head.

St Andrews Road South was blocked off to its junction with St Thomas’ Road for a time.

The accident happened at 11am on Friday.
