Last week it was announced that new tighter restrictions would be introduced on Tuesday, September 22, across Preston, South Ribble, Chorley, Blackburn with Darwen, Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Burnley, West Lancashire, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and the Ribble Valley - excluding Blackpool.
Tonight, the measures have been extended to the resort.
These are the new restrictions which will now also apply to Blackpool:
1.
Residents must not socialise with other people outside of their household or protective support bubble in private homes or gardens
2.
While people who do not live with you cannot visit your home, there are a number of exceptions which can be found on the LCC website https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/coronavirus-updates/coronavirus-restrictions-in-lancashire/
3.
The Government advice is to avoid mixing with any additional household in any location to further decrease the risk of spreading the virus.

Pubs, bars and restaurants limited to table service only

The county-wide Covid regime also incorporates all of the national rules – including the 10pm-5am closure period in the leisure and hospitality industry
6.
People are urged only to use public transport for essential journeys, such as travelling to school, work or for a health appointment.
