The premises on Victoria Road West had most recently traded as the Hand-crafted Burger and Cake Cafeteria, which later changed its name to Cleveleys Community Hub, but it closed in November 2019.

The property's owners lodged plans with Wyre Council on July 16 to transform the top two floors into apartments, and the ground floor into another commercial premises.

Documents submitted to Wyre Council described the former cafe as "left to ruin for many years," with the front of the building in "poor condition."

Photos included in the application also show a yard area "in need of repair" to the back of the building and damaged windows.

Mr Rakesh Mistry of M83 Associates, on behalf of the building owners, said: "The conversion of the building would most certainly benefit the area and also provide local jobs to the people of Cleveleys.

"We have identified Cleveleys to have great potential for tourism and this development could be the catalyst for regeneration within the area."
