From Monday June 29, the full service including all recycling will be back in force.

It follows the return of garden waste collections, and the re-opening of the tip on Bristol Avenue on May 18 which householders can only use on the weekday designated to their postcode area.

From now on people are being urged to ensure they separate their waste correctly so full recycling can resume.

Coun Jim Hobson, Blackpool Council cabinet member responsible for the environment, said: “Both frontline staff and those behind the scenes continue to work incredibly hard to ensure that our waste and recycling services not only return to their normal schedule, but also function in a manner that is safe for both employees and residents.

“As part of this coordinated effort, we urge residents to play their part by re-familiarising themselves with what items belong in each bin, and by recycling as they normally would have prior to the temporary changes.

“We thank everyone for both their patience and support throughout what has been a challenging time.”

From June 29, residents must present their grey bin only on their household waste day, and their blue bin and brown bag together on their recycling collection day.

Anyone living in apartments, flats and houses in multiple occupancy will also be able to utilise the recycling services they share from June 29.

From Monday 29 June, residents are asked to make sure that their:

blue bin contains only recyclable plastic bottles, pots, tubs, trays, glass jars/bottles and tins, etc.

brown bag contains only cardboard and paper waste

grey bin contains only household non-recyclable waste, and that anything recyclable is placed in one of the above containers
