Sarah is standing on a platform dedicated to ‘rewriting the headlines’ for the town and delivering a hopeful vision with a robust plan for change.

She said: “I am a proud Blackpool resident and there are so many wonderful aspects of the town, not least the heart, compassion, humour and hard graft I see in the people I meet every day.

"There is so much opportunity and potential here, yet we feature high on almost all of the wrong league tables.

"The town deserves better and I believe together we can do better for Blackpool, improving lives today and for future generations.

“My focus will be education, housing and economic improvements, supporting sustainable jobs, better health outcomes and higher standards of living for everyone.

“I have spent the last 15 years fighting to level the playing field and leading programmes which have delivered genuine change.

"I am standing to be the candidate for Blackpool South because I know we can win, I know we can restore hope to our community and change our country; now is the time to write a new chapter and rewrite those headlines.”

As a local charity director, Sarah has secured more than £300,000 to fund programmes improving literacy and reducing youth unemployment, working closely with Blackpool Council, local schools and businesses to deliver long lasting change.

Mr Webb has said he wants to ‘provide grass root solutions and deliver real change for his home town' while Mr Cartmell has put fighting for the NHS at the forefront of his campaign.

Blackpool South was held by Labour's Gordon Marsden for 22 years until he lost out to Conservative Scott Benton at the 2019 General Election.
