“These groups did some amazing work in supporting the public to get involved in looking after their community.

“As a committee we will be keen to see what the council’s recovery plan will be to help get those groups back up and running as well as supporting new groups to emerge.

“It’s crucial in the future we create a structure, especially after all the mental health pressures everyone has been under during the pandemic, that every citizen of Blackpool can get involved with.”

Other items in the meeting cover an update from the council’s auditor and service reports from different departments.

The audit meeting, which will be held online, will be broadcast on the Blackpool Council Youtube channel at 6pm.
