Police warn of bank card thefts and cash withdrawals in Blackpool town centre
Police have issued a warning after receiving reports of bank cards being stolen and used to withdraw cash in Blackpool town centre.
Officers have received several reports in recent weeks of offenders stealing victims’ bank cards before quickly using them to withdraw money.
Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Rest assured we are looking into these reports and are taking them very seriously.
Whilst we continue to investigate these reports, we wanted to share with you just a few ways you can keep your possessions secure when visiting.”
Police are advising people to keep bank cards and other valuables secure, for example by storing wallets or purses in zipped bags rather than in pockets.
They also recommend reporting suspected thefts immediately to your bank, monitoring accounts for unauthorised payments and using banking apps that allow cards to be frozen.
Officers have also encouraged people to use mobile wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, which require biometric verification such as facial recognition or fingerprints before payments are approved.
Other advice includes covering the keypad when entering a PIN at cash machines or shop terminals and checking that cards have been returned after paying in shops or restaurants.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
