At around midnight on Wednesday, a Citroen C5 and jewellery was taken during a burglary at an address in Oak Bank Terrace in Nelson.

Last night the car was spotted in the Blackpool area by traffic police on the M55, who called in dog patrols and the police helicopter for help.

Officers followed the car and a stinger was set up just off the Broughton junction of the M55.
