Police have appealed for information after a motorcylist was knocked off his bike by a white van which failed to stop.

Officers say a small white van, possibly a Fiat Doblo, collided with a Honda motorbike, knocking the rider into the road.

The van did not stop at the scene and continued driving in the direction of Fleetwood.

The motorcyclist’s injuries are not thought to be serious.

PC Steve Wood said: “It is shocking to think that a driver would not stop after a collision that saw a motorcyclist thrown off his vehicle, hitting the road.

“I am directly appealing to the driver to come forward. It may be that they have panicked at the time but feel it’s time to do the right thing and speak to us.

“If you have any information that could assist us with our investigation, perhaps you know of a small white van that is marked on the off side, please get in contact.”
