Police and fire service investigating Boxing Day rubbish fire in Blackpool

A fire in Blackpool which involved rubbish behind a building is being investigated by police and the fire service.

The incident happened before 7am today at an address of Dickson Road.

The fire service were called at 6.50am and two engines from Blackpool's Forest Gate station were sent to the incident.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire the fire involved rubbish at the rear of the property that had spread.

The spokesman added: "Firefighters used breaking in tools, a hose reel and triple extension ladder. The police were called as the fire was of suspicious origin."

Blackpool Police were contacted for comment.
