Plea to keep windows and doors closed as fire rages at industrial unit

Emergency services were called to the back alley business shortly after 4.15am by a neighbour who spotted flames.

Four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform are on the scene, and are trying to stop the fire spreading to nearby properties, a spokesman for the service said.

"It's generating a lot of smoke and we are asking people to keep their doors and windows closed," he added.

There have been no reports of any injuries, and no cause was immediately clear.
