Plans revealed for Blackpool pubs

Plans lodged with Blackpool Council include details of a proposed rebranding of the Litten Tree on Queen Street.

Designs submitted by operator the Stonegate Pub Company show proposed new signage which would make the pub part of the Slug and Lettuce chain which already has around 70 bars around the country.

If the changes go ahead, the new brand's offer would include serving food, drinks and cocktails.

The application is for the display of three internally illuminated fascia signs and one externally illuminated wall mounted name sign at the premises.

The Litten Tree opened in 2002 following a £1.5m investment to convert disused council offices.

Meanwhile, proposals have been approved for an extension of the bar at Frenchman's Cove on South King Street.

A single storey rear extension will be built to extend the drinking area by relocating the kitchen and smoking area into the rear yard.

Investment has also seen the re-opening of another premises.

Advertising consent was given to the owners of new bar and grill The Bank on Corporation Street to display new signs.

The premises most recently operated as the Espanol Toro tapas bar, but was empty for a while before its re-opening.
