A person has died after being hit by a train at Layton station.

The incident happened at around 3pm today (May 24). Police remained at the station as of 5pm.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to Layton station at 3.05pm today following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
