The UK Census 2001 recorded 19,165 people living in Bispham, with just over 57 per cent of residents recorded as being between the ages of 18 and 64.
Its name originates from "Biscopham," which means Bishop's estate - and featured in the 1086 Domesday book.
Until 1910, it was known as Bispham-with-Norbreck.
