Resort teen mum TV star

The 18-year-old, of Poulton, will feature on the UK version of a popular hit American TV show, following the lives of teenagers who have become mothers.

Teen Moms UK will see five teenage mums share their journey and the highs and lows of parenthood – including all the tears, tantrums and independence.

Amber says since becoming a teen mum, she is as confident as ever.

Having her son Brooklyn – now one – turned her life upside down – but Amber says she is glad she has become a young mum. She says since giving birth, she has become more reliable, responsible and mature – showing age doesn’t mean you can’t be the best mum you can be. It’s thanks in part to the support of her friends and family – who have supported her from bump to baby.

The former Hodgson Academy pupil says they can’t wait to watch the show together, which stars on Wednesday, November 2.

Amber, who wants to follow in her mum’s footsteps – working as a carer – says when she’s not at work, she likes spending time with family on days out, on shopping trips with friends or letting her hair down once in a while.

She said: “I’ve been inspired to work with children since giving birth. There’s nothing I don’t like about being a mum and I hope everyone will be able to see the real me, because I always try my hardest to do myself and my son proud.”

Amber normally knows what she wants in life, but choosing her son’s name proved to be a difficult decision. Finally, she settled on Brooklyn and now thinks she couldn’t have made a better choice – because “looking at my son now, he looks so much like a Brooklyn”.

Amber has watched as the girls stateside have progressed on Teen Moms and says she is ready for everything the eight-part series might throw at her.
