Poulton chippy wrecked after car crash

The Fish Bar on Blackpool Old Road was wrecked at 4pm yesterday (July 7) after a car drove straight into the front window.

Although police were unable to confirm the driver's age, officials said the car was occupied by an elderly couple.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We were called to a damage-only collision at the Fish Bar at 4pm on Tuesday.

"As this was an accident, no arrests were made and the elderly couple in the car had no injuries.

"Half of the car was in the building when we arrived with the back end on the forecourt. It was later removed by a recovery firm."

A spokesman for The Fish Bar said: "We're hoping to get sorted and back open ASAP.

"Luckily, no one was hurt, and that's the main thing.

"We have been inundated with people getting in touch, and it really is appreciated."
