Mya Worden, 14, a St. Mary's Catholic Academy pupil from North Shore, was nominated by Streetlife for the High Sheriff of Lancashire's Young Citizen award.
It came as a result of saving three months of pocket money to buy clothing and toiletries for the charity, which helps vulnerable young people in Blackpool, in December last year.

Mya's parents Emma and Mark, who both work at Warren Manor day centre in Anchorsholme, said they were incredibly proud of the caring young lady Mya was growing up to be.
Emma said: "Mya doesn't realise how amazing she is. She felt she hadn't done anything significant to deserve the certificate, but she is so loving and caring and we were so proud of her.
"She was so grateful to be nominated by Julie at Streetlife, and she certainly wasn't expecting to receive anything. She's still going to carry on helping people in need, she has a heart of gold."

"It's great to see such compassion and consideration from a young person. Mya saw an issue that she found upsetting and was inspired to make a difference.
"We would like to congratulate her on a well-deserved win."
