New face at St John the Divine and St Cuthbert parish in Lytham

The Lytham parish of St John the Divine and St Cuthbert has welcomed a new member of the clerical team.

Rev. Emma Swarbrick will be licensed as Mission Enabler at St John's on East Beach in Lytham next Tuesday evening by the Bishop of Burnley and the Archdeacon of Lancaster.

The Rev. Nick Wells, vicar of JC Lytham, said her focus will be on developing community links.

Emma grew up in St Annes, attending Mayfield Primary School on Saint Leonard's Road East and Lytham St Annes High before moving on to St Martin's College, Lancaster, to train as a teacher.

She then trained for the priesthood at Trinity College, Bristol, and was ordained at Blackburn Cathedral.

Emma then had curacies at two Blackpool churches, St Thomas's on Caunce Street and Holy Trinity, on Dean Street in South Shore.

Rev. Swarbrick has two sons and her main hobby is crocheting.
