With the ongoing cost of living crisis, many pet owners are resorting to placing their furry companions in the RSPCA’s care, as they can sadly no longer afford to look after them.
Here are some of the gorgeous furry friends currently being cared for at the RSPCA in Preston and Blackpool that have not found their perfect family – could it be you?
Take a look at the latest adorable bunch including Astro and Twirl.

1. Dottie
Say hello to Dottie our four-year-old female Dachshund. She is a spritely little thing who loves being out and about exploring and meeting people. A typical Daxie, Dottie will bark at passing dogs, however will stop when asked and is friendly with other dogs once she has settled down. She could live with children of a primary school age. 2. Nova
Beautfiful Nova is 11 and and has been in the RSPCA's care since my owner sadly passed away in November last year. She is a night owl who loves being brushed and spends her days sat in the window. She would prefer an adult-only household. Photo: RSPCA Preston

3. Twirl
Twirl is a beautiful 11-month-old female Tortie domestic shorthair. She cant get enough of the cuddles, head bumps and loves playing with her toys, especially the small mice toys, she will grab and chew till her hearts content. She is looking for a quiet home as the only pet but can live with children 16+ who will offer her time and space when she needs it and allow her to come to them. Photo: RSPCA Preston

4. Astro
Astro is our very sweet and affectionate 11-month-old domestic shorthair. She is a very affectionate and loving girl who wants nothing more than to give as many head bumps as possible and loves nothing more than some warm cuddles. She could live with children of a primary school age. Photo: RSPCA Preston

5. Connie
Sweet girl Connie arrived with another dog after her welfare needs weren’t being met. It is thought she has never been out of the house, so the outside world was very scary for her. She would prefer an adult-only household. Photo: RSPCA Blackpool & North Lancs

6. Bonnie
Sweet Bonnie arrived with another dog after her welfare needs weren’t being met. RSPCA staff believe she has never been out of the house, so the outside world was very scary for her. She would suit an adult-only home. Photo: RSPCA Blackpool & North Lancs
