Lytham World Food and Drink Festival a tasty treat for thousands

The second annual Lytham World Food and Drink Festival proved a big attraction over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with tens of thousands of people flocking to the Lowther Gardens venue to sample a wide variety of goodies.

Around 25,000 turned out to the first two days of the three-day event, which concluded today, and Lowther Trust chairman Tim Lince said: "It has gone wonderfully well. The traders have said they have never known anything like it."

The Food Festival, which also included a craft fair and fairground rides, followed an Ice Cream Festival at the Gardens in July, which also attracted a bumper attendance.
