Hundreds of children submit precious memories to Showtown museum's 'lockdown time capsule'
Showtown called on youngsters to submit arts and crafts, poems, videos and letters reflecting on their time in lockdown throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
The museum, on Church Street, has extended the deadline for the time capsule to the end of October, and is now asking families to create a unique submission capturing their happy memories of summer.

Once collected, the submissions will be stored within the time capsule, which will be buried within the £13m museum, which is expected to open next year.
Councillor Gillian Campbell said: “We’ve had some great submissions which tell the unique tales of being a child in Blackpool during lockdown.
“During the summer holidays we want to see as many children getting involved and having fun creating their own lockdown memories through arts and crafts, dance and drama – after all Blackpool is the home of entertainment.”
Items for the time capsule can be submitted until 31 October 2020. Email [email protected] with subject title 'Showtown Time Capsule'.
