Kevin Brown, of Trio Entertainment, said: "We tried to hold off as long as we could but it became clear that because of social distancing, it just wasn't possible to go ahead.

"It is very difficult for theatre companies, we have never known a year like this, and we have had to pull all our panto shows."

Trio Entertainment have been performing pantos at the Marine Hall since 2012,

Kevin said: "It's a case of onwards and upwards and we hope to be able to perform Aladdin in December 2021."

Wyre Theatres, which oversees shows at the Marine Hall and Thornton Little Theatre, is contacting customers about rescheduled shows at its venues.
