Leo White, three, of Fredora Avenue, Marton, was treated to a surprise visit from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) firefighters after his mum Melissa and dad Sam got in touch with them and told them what the youngster had been up to.

Melissa said: “While the lockdown has been going on he’s been an absolute superstar. So to cheer up our neighbours he has taken Easter treats to different houses with rainbows in their window.

“I got in touch with LFRS last week to come and surprise him. I told them that I would inform the Gazette as it was an amazing thing for Leo to do but even better it was amazing for the fire service to come out to our house with the fire engine and all the fire fighters who also brought Leo some Easter treats.

“I am so proud of Leo thinking of other people and children.”

Leo was able to have a photo in front of the fire engine and with the firefighters who posed in the cab of the fire engine while maintaining self-distancing measures.

The firefighters also said both Leo and his little sister Lottie would be able to go and see the engine up close when the lockdown finishes.
