Dave Gee, 30, from Manchester, has drawn the resort in black and white, capturing all of the famous sights across Blackpool.

It is his 37th map he has doodled of places around the world and it was chosen by a social media competition.

Dave said: “When we went into this second lockdown I ran a competition of where people would like me to draw and Blackpool got the most votes.

“After winning I asked people to comment what places they would like to see on the map. Lots of the locals helped out and I did research on my own of nice buildings and well known pubs.”

Despite drawing large cities such as New York, London and Hamburg, Dave said Blackpool was challenging at times.

He said: “The hardest thing about Blackpool was the Promenade because obviously there is lots going on there and I didn’t want to kind of lose that.

“I knew it was going to be quite congested around there and I was a bit worried they might be sort of lost and the residential areas might be a bit of blank but there was enough kind of places of interest across the whole of Blackpool to make the map look busy still.

“It was great that so many residents contributed quite a lot of the ideas and some places which is always nice as it’s more inclusive.”

Dave has been doing his doodle maps for around five years and they are the art he is most known for.

He said: “Someone once said to me that one of my older pieces looked like a city from above and that gave me the idea of doing maps.

“My first was Manchester and then that kind of took off and then it just sort of snowballed from there really. It’s mainly what I do know.”
