Two young boys from Cleveleys are spreading joy throughout their neighbourhood, by making rainbows and Easter cards for their elderly neighbours.

Brothers Cody Parrish, six, and Kai Parrish, four, created Easter cards to post through elderly residents' doors around their home in St George's Avenue, Cleveleys.

The boys, who attend St Teresa's Catholic Primary School and St Teresa's Nursery in Cleveleys, have also been taking part in Lancashire Police's 'Wyre Warriors' challenge, an initiative encouraging children to dress up, and help with spreading the word about staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They have left painted rocks with positive messages around Cleveleys, created rainbow drawings and posted them through neighbours' doors, and created their own 'rainbow window' to bring happiness and hope to passers-by.

Mum Sian Makepeace, 26, said: "We decided to take part in making these things to spread joy at this hard time.

"They both love colouring and making things, and Cody wanted to leave things around the neighbourhood for other children to find during their walks outside. His best friend actually found one of the rocks he made.

"We have a lot of elderly neighbours living near us, and some of them have put the boys' rainbows up in their own windows."
