Big changes have been promised at a Cleveleys care home after it was placed in special measures due to a lack of proper Covid-19 safety.

The Cleveleys Nursing Home, on Rossall Road, was rated inadequate by the Care Quality Commission following an inspection in December.

Nina Shah, director of Manor Homes, which oversees the Cleveleys Nursing Home, said swift action had been taken to rectify the problems highlighted in the CQC report

She said: "We have recently had a CQC inspection and they have rated us as inadequate. This is absolutely devastating to us, as we pride ourselves in delivering the best possible care to our residents. However, we accept the CQC report and immediately have made significant improvements within our home, to rectify the inadequacies.

"We are making it our priority of doing the maximum, to adhere to and meet the improvements and measures and will continue in our professionalism with delivering person-centred care to ensure the safety and well-being of all our residents.

"Moving forward, all staff have the great confidence in working stronger towards regaining a good report again. "
