Carl Wood, 32, and Amber Nuttall, 26, from Bispham, are looking to give back to Ronald McDonald House, which accommodated the pair for free so they could stay with 11-week-old son Teddy in Manchester.

Before he was born, medics discovered Teddy had increased fluid on the back of his neck and Amber was referred to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. She and Carl later discovered Teddy had clubfeet and micrognathia, a condition which causes a smaller than usual lower jaw.

Delivery driver Carl said: "Everyone has been amazing through the fundraiser and we quickly passed our initial goal.

"We have been told by Ronald McDonald House that if we’re able to hit the target of £5,000, Teddy will have a room named after him with his own plaque and theme, which would be great."

Carl has also organised a raffle to raise money for the charity, and businesses on the Fylde coast have provided prizes, including a seven-hour tattoo booking, aqua thermal experience at Ribby Hall, shopping vouchers, and

a photo shoot.

Carl added: "The idea of the raffle is that anyone that donates through Teddy’s JustGiving page will automatically be entered into the prize draw to win. It is going to take place this Saturday on the ‘The Story Of Teddy’ Facebook page."
