Blackpool fundraiser Big Ryan hands over treats at The Harbour

Prolific fundraiser Big Ryan Smith has handed over huge amounts of biscuits, sweets and chocolates to patients at the The Harbour unit in the resort.

Ryan, of South Shore, handed over the huge haul of goodies to the mental health facility, on Preston New Road, on Saturday as part of World Mental Health Day.

The treats were paid for thanks to Ryan's friends donating funds on his Facebook page.

Ryan said: "I wanted to do this to cheer up the people in The Harbour.

"Three of my good friends took their own lives because they suffered from mental health problems and I wanted to do this for World Mental Health Day.

"Problems have been even worse because of Covid."

Ryan has staged numerous fundraisers in the town over the past 18 months.

On this occasion he was accompanied by Blackpool South MP Scott Benton, who was invited along by Ryan.
