Opinions sought on GP service changes
Blackpool health chiefs are asking for residents' opinions on a possible change to the repeat prescriptions service.
NHS Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like patients who use a managed repeat prescription ordering service from their local pharmacist to share their views on whether they would instead prefer to order prescriptions from their GP surgery.
Recent studies and a project with some local GPs has already shown that encouraging patients to order their repeat prescription directly from their GP, rather than through a managed pharmacy service reduced the amount of wasted medication, the CCG says.
