New streets should be named after First World War heroes

When the housing estate to be built on the former James Nelson’s sports field is complete, the roads/streets will need to be named.

A suggestion has been put forward that some of them could be named after men who worked at Amos Nelson’s mills and were killed during the First World War.

I have been reliably informed there used to be a memorial plaque just inside the sports club. Does anyone know what has happened to this? Also, if anyone can remember the names of any mill workers who were killed, will they please contact me on either [email protected] or 614053.
