Strong words for Harry and Meghan

It seems that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, far from wanting to get away from media attention, seem to be courting it.

Not a day goes by before one or other of them appear in our newspapers and Los Angeles is the capital of media attention.

Good riddance to Harry and Meghan, I say.

What a disappointment Prince Harry has turned out to be.

the carefree happy person Harry seemed to be has turned into a rather miserable serious person hanging on to Meghan’s every word, and in the process, losing his personality.

We shall probably never really know but he is showing himself to be a rather shallow and selfish person preaching in Meghan’s shadow.

So sad.

Having broken Royal protocol with their comments on the upcoming US presidential election, the time has now come for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be stripped of their Royal status before they cause even more embarrassment for the Queen.

Either they are Royals – or not.

Questions about new M55 link road

A couple questions regarding the M55 link road:

Will Kilnhouses be extended across Queensway to meet up with the new link road? Will LSA Way have speed bumps installed?

If not, as a Cypress Point resident, I feel the traffic will be terribly congested in and out of Cypress Point.

Not to mention, without speed bumps or a speed camera, LSA Way will become a speedway to and from the link road. This will increase the likelihood of accidents, and an increased danger for pedestrians and even animals.

Politics

Shameful show of hypocrisy

Congratulations Liverpool for introducing an ethical events policy to govern the use of public buildings following the cancellation of an arms fair in the city.

Principled people up and down this land have hit out at the negotiation of arms sales to the authoritarian regime of Kazakhstan.

Sales to this repressive regime include guns, tanks, aircraft, and sniper rifles.

The British embassy in Kazakhstan revealed its role hosting meetings between the RAF and their military.

This is a shameful show of hypocricy.

UK diplomats and arms forces personnel are not sales people for Airbus. They should not be working in tandem with arms companies and acting as cheerleaders for arms sales.

The regime in Kazakhstan has an awful human rights record and a long history of abuses. The UK government should be amplifying the voices of human rights defenders in Kazakhstan and beyond, not arming and supporting the regime that is repressing them.

Virus

Frightened by those not wearing masks

While doing our shopping in a local food store, I noticed more than once that people are not wearing masks which I can’t understand, as we have been told to wear them when shopping to protect both yourself and others from the Covid-19 virus.

I have noticed the rules are being broken. This is totally unfair to people, it’s very frightening while shopping.

I mentioned it to the shop manager in a polite way and he said that we can’t say or do anything about those who don’t wear a mask – we are only concerned for our workers. He added that we make sure they wear one but we can’t tell others what they should do – and it could be unsafe if we did because they may turn violent.

I would have thought that this would put shoppers off. In cases like this, wouldn’t it be a good idea to have someone to patrol around the shops to ask people politely to wear a mask? I thought the police were supposed to check on this, but I may have heard wrong from the TV and I thought people were getting quite big fines for not doing so.

If not, maybe this is what should be happening to encourage us to do our shopping while feeling safe.

I can understand the shop manager’s answer, but I do hope these people will realise, and understand, that it’s for everyone’s good to wear a mask and help to shield each other from this fatal virus so we can shop with less fear in the future.
