He said: “Sixteen-year-old workers should be paid at least £10 per hour.”
The Labour Party manifesto included a pledge to raise the minimum wage to the level of the living wage for 18-24 year olds. This should apply to all workers.
Consider then the following.

Hide Ad1. Mr. Corbyn fails to address how companies will be able to afford these astonishing rises.
2. It suggests that a 16 year old starting work and a 65 year old with 50 years’ service with the same company could, however unlikely, both be earning £10 per hour (living wage).
3. It also suggests that 50 years’ experience and loyalty count for nothing!
4. A 16 year old with NO experience and a 24 year old with eight years’ experience both may earn £10 per hour.

Hide AdUnbelievably Jeremy Corbyn was addressing Unison. What, they thought of his utterings were not recorded?!
The Conservatives, with Theresa May at the helm. gave Labour a totally undeserved lifeline at the last election with a thoroughly inept performance, which promoted Mr Corbyn from zero to hero without him having to explain his spending plans, which numerous political commentators insisted didn’t add up.
No change there then!
It seems Jeremy has just handed the lifeline back!
Will Labour never learn that you cannot spend you way out of trouble!
Forget Education/NHS/Transport/Environment/Foreign Policies and any other policies because there is only really one policy that counts. All other policies can only be implemented when the economic policy is deemed to be successful!

PRISON
Is Spice a way to control prisoners?
Re Gazette Letters, Monday, June 19, about a recent court case at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Defence layer Patrick Nelligan told magistrates the problem with ‘spice’ is it is more freely available in prisons than it is on the outside.
Surely this can’t be so.
Is it a case of turn a blind eye, allowing this as a tool to control prisoners with limited wardens control?

HIGHWAYS
Selfish parking by white van man
I am appalled and angry about the way some able bodied drivers abuse disabled parking spaces at shops.
I took the driver of a large white van to task today for parking in a disabled spot and all I got for my trouble was rude gestures and an “I couldn’t care less’’ attitude.
I hope some day he or one of his family need a disabled spot only to find an able bodied driver has taken it for his/her selfish ends.

Hide AdThe problem lies in the fact that these spaces are not policed properly. If these drivers were to take a disabled spot in town they would find themselves with a hefty fine.
The same should apply to supermarkets and smaller outlets. I do not blame the staff of these smaller outlets, why should they take the flak when the bosses of such places are not prepared to shoulder the responsibility of policing their car parking facilities. Finally to the driver of the white van: “So are you, you coward, nice and safe in your tin box .”

TERRORISM
Scum like this should be executed
One of the monsters who butchered Lee Rigby has been listed as the most dangerous prisoner in Britain.
He’s not being monitored as the resources are not there to monitor him, and he’s been teaching inmates his idea of Islam.

Hide AdThis brute and the other who killed that poor lad shouldn’t be in contact with any human beings, they should be locked up in solitary constantly with only a bucket for the loo, one meal a day and no comforts .
Our taxes are letting them live it up in prison and I don’t think they’re worth it.
I don’t agree with the death penalty but for scum like these I say yes.

So, why all this cladding anyway?
Why is cladding on high-rise buildings necessary in the first place?

Hide AdIs it there to cover up defects, is it there to swell the coffers of the contractors, is it there to make the building more attractive to the area?
The high rise survived very well before the cladding was installed and no problems as far as the public were made aware, so why?

End overseas aid until blocks sorted
The Prime Minister must now make an unbroken law to ban all Britain’s world aid funds for an X number of years until every tower block in the UK has sprinkler systems, proper fire alarms, external emergency ladders similar to the ones in the USA and fire proof cladding.
