Nurse Gary taking to the skies to raise money for local charities

Anchorsholme resident Gary Passmore is taking to the skies on a wing walking flight to raise money for two local charities Brian House and Trinity.

Following a Christmas gift by his partner Deborah of a wing walking flight, Gary has decided to take the chance to use the flight to raise money for two special local causes.

Gary, a mental health nurse, said: “Because we are both nurses – Debs is a general nurse and I am a mental health nurse – we support patients in our daily role who experience cancer physically and psychologically.

“We have family and friends with cancer and we believe that Trinity Hospice and Brian House do a fantastic job on the Fylde Coast.”

Gary has previously done a parachute jump for charity and had his sights set high on another challenge. Gary added: “I did a parachute jump in the 1980s for charity and from then I said I would like to do a wing walk or bungee jump.

“My partner Debs surprised me at Christmas with a wing walk.”

Gary is set to carry out the wing walk in May.

Anchorsholme Coun Paul Galley said: “Everyone is so proud of Gary.

“He puts so much energy into his work and sees day in day out the great work being done by Brian House and Trinity.

“This is his way of supporting them and making a difference.”
