21 exciting images showing rate of change at Blackpool's incredible £65m Multiversity site

Blackpool’s £65m Multiversity is beginning to take shape, with new photos showing huge steel frames rising above the town centre.

The new Blackpool and The Fylde College facility will provide around 115,000 sq ft of education space for approximately 3,000 students, apprentices and staff when it opens in September 2028.

The project forms part of Blackpool Council’s wider Talbot Gateway regeneration scheme. After years of planning, demolition and site preparation, main construction officially began in May.

George Street has also closed permanently to traffic ahead of its transformation into a new public realm space once construction is complete, helping create a more attractive and accessible town centre.
