“People can expect expect an unforgettable night filled with Bollywood vibes”

A touch of Bollywood will be coming to Bispham tomorrow for the opening of a new restaurant.

The grand launch comes as the long-established Harlands Hotel on Bispham seafront is being rebranded as The Royal Bay Hotel, following an extensive revamp.

And the former Kesariya Fusion restaurant in the hotel is to reopen under the Royal Bay banner.

On Friday the doors will open at 4pm as the restaurant is given a grand launch, with members of the public welcome to come along.

The Bollywood fun begins at 8pm and all prices will be offered at 50 per cent off the usual price, although the drinks will be at the usual rates.

Following the launch, the new restaurant will offer both English and Indian breakfasts, including Masala Omelette, as well as a range of pizzas, unique burgers and wraps.

A special £1 chicken burger is also available.

New operator Jay Chuttugulla, who has revamped the 23-bed hotel as well as the restaurant, says: “We’d like to extend a warm welcome to the people of Blackpool, to join us in a Bollywood style opening for our opening night.

“People can expect expect an unforgettable night filled with Bollywood vibes, with food, drink and music provided by a Bollywood DJ.

“Our menu is packed with indian fusion flavours - there’ll be curries, burgers and wraps.”

Indian-born Jay, who has a Masters degree in IT and hospitality management, spent time in the hospitality trade in Australia before heading to the UK and Blackpool.

He said: “I always wanted to try something like this and I was helping out with the previous management team. Unfortunately they had a bereavement and were no longer able to continue.

“I decided to take over the lease of the hotel and over the last few months I’ve been re-decorating it and upgrading the rooms, the lounge, the bar and the kitchen.

“We have some wonderful rooms with sea views and our chef has been in the restaurant trade for nearly 50 years.

“My aim is to get the New Bay Hotel established as a quality hotel in a prime seafront location, with an exciting new restaurant.

“Now we’re just looking forward to our big launch.”
