New golf training facility given green light to replace former dog care centre
Fylde Council approved the plans earlier this week, and works can now begin on the facility.
Ambitious plans to convert a former dog training facility into a modern golf training facility, complete with simulators and practice greens, have been given the green light.
The new golf facility will be built at Unit 5 on the Lytham Business Park in the former MacFarlane Canine Services space.
It will feature several golf simulator bays, allowing customers to practise, play and receive coaching as well as an ancillary bar, providing somewhere for customers to socialise before and after playing.

No external alterations were proposed by the applicant, who has been an established business operator in Lytham for over 30 years. According to the applicant, the facility will allow players of all abilities to practice and train without leaving the Fylde coast.
“The proposed golf training facility will provide a contemporary leisure and sporting destination capable of operating throughout the year and in all weather conditions,” the design and access statement reads.
“The use of golf simulator technology will allow customers to undertake golf practice, coaching, training and recreational activity within an indoor environment. The facility will therefore provide a modern form of sporting and leisure provision which complements the established sporting character of the wider Lytham St Annes area.”
