Neighbourhood group will still cover Fleetwood

The chairman of Fleetwood Neighbourhood Watch Association insists the group will remain independent and will not be integrated into a new Wyre branch based at Poulton.

Ivor Bould was responding after the announcement that the new Wyre Neighbourhood Watch Association, previously known as the Garstang and Over Wyre Neighbourhood Watch, had recently expanded to cover a wider area and had been rebranded.

The Wyre Neighbourhood Watch Association, which meets at the Teanlow Community Centre in Poulton, is currently looking at door to door scams and cyber crime.

Mr Bould said: “People in Fleetwood need to know that we will still be covering the town, exclusively.”

Mr Bould said the group was the “eyes and ears” of the police but advised that anyone who needed to report a crime should contact the police directly.

Fleetwood’s Watch group next meets at Fleetwood Fire Station community room on June 6 at 7pm.
