Music night aids hospice funds

A night of entertainment on North Pier is being planned to support Trinity Hospice.

Three people, who have all lost relatives to terminal illness, have banded together to arrange the night of music and raffles for the charity.

Vicky Roberts, Tony Lee and Lisa Jones are staging the event, which will feature Blackpool X Factor finalist Aiden Grimshaw.

Also on the bill are Lady Ga Ga and Robbie Williams tribute acts, and there will be a performance by Blackpool and The Fylde College performing arts students.

The event takes place on February 28.

Vicky said: “We have all lost someone to illness, and we wanted to give something back to the hospice.

“The staff there are wonderful, and do such a vital job.

“We have got lots of raffles planned for throughout the night, for such things as rugby and 
football shirts, and some of the college students will be running casino tables for us.”

She added that the evening, billed as a “fun-filled evening in aid of Trinity Hospice”, also aimed to raise awareness about the work that the hospice does for the people of the Fylde coast.

Other events to support the hospice include a Burns Night coffee morning at 10am at Poulton Bridge Club, organised by the Poulton Friends of Trinity Hospice group, and a Burns Quiz night staged by the Blackpool Friends of the hospice at Bispham Conservative Club, Red Bank Road on January 26 from 7.30pm – tickets can be bought from Sheila on (01253) 867276.

There will also be a good as new sale from the Poulton Friends at Poulton Methodist Church, Queensway on February 21 at 10am.
