MURDER VICTIM: Coroner delivers verdict on tragic mum Lisa Chadderton

Coroner Alan Wilson decided not to reopen the inquest into the death of Lisa Chadderton, 44, at Blackpool Town Hall on Thursday.

Ms Chadderton, a mum of one, was strangled and stabbed by her jealous partner Mark Tindill, 56, in the flat above Gillespies bar on Topping Street, Blackpool, on November 26 2017.

Tindill, of Topping Street, pleaded guilty to murder at Preston Crown Court last month.

He was jailed for life with a minimum term of 15 years.

Closing the investigation, Mr Wilson said: “My determination is that all of the relevant issues that need to be addressed, as far as this offence is concerned, have been addressed within the criminal court.

“I have not received any submission from the family of the deceased asking me to hold an inquest. Had I received them, they would have been submissions that I would have taken into account.

“It seems to me very clear that, looking at the court transcripts I have obtained, that the proceedings went into all the details of this offence, and as a consequence I will be signing some documents later today confirming that the inquest will not be resuming.”

At Tindill’s sentencing last month, the court heard how he murdered Ms Chadderton in a ‘drunken, jealous rage’, as he believed she had been unfaithful.

After killing Ms Chadderton, he hid her body in a utility room and fled to the south.

On the morning of November 27 he called Kent police confessing to the crime.
