Motorcyclist injured in road accident near Fleetwood's Rossall School

A motorcyclist suffered a suspected broken leg in a road accident in Fleewood yesterday.

The man, believed to be from Fleetwood, was injured when his Buell bike came into collision with a silver Hyundai on Broadway, close to Rossall School, at around 2.40pm.

The North West Air Ambulance attended and offered assistance to a road ambulance crew at the scene, before the man was taken in the ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital.

No one else suffered injuries in the incident, after which the road was closed for a short time.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance said: "We sent two ambulances, an advanced paramedic and air ambulance to the scene and treated one patient,a male in his 60s with serious hip and leg injuries.

"We took the patient to Royal Preston Hospital via land ambulance."
