More acts for Proms

Two more acts have been announced for the 1980s versus 1990s night of the Lytham Proms Festival.

English New Wave group ABC, who had 10 UK top 10 tracks, and five in the US Top 40 charts, and Brother Beyond will represent the 1980s, along with the already-announced Hue & Cry, The Christians, Howard Jones, China Crisis and Captain Sensible

The 1990s will be represented by Blue, Heather Small, Atomic Kitten and B*witched.

The festival organisers hope it will make for a massive fun evening of musical nostalgia on Friday August 1 as the festival kicks off its fifth birthday.

The following night sees international superstar Tom Jones take to the stage, followed by The Last Night of the Proms on the Sunday, with Michael Ball, Lesley Garrett and the Halle Orchestra.
