Man's body found in car parked next to Subway in Squires Gate

A man's body was found inside a car parked next to Subway in Squires Gate Lane yesterday (September 6).

Police were called to investigate after the man was found deceased in his car, parked in a driveway between Subway and Clover Leaf Garage, at around 2pm on Sunday.

A blue tent was erected around the car, with the man's body inside, whilst officers investigated how the man had died.

Lancashire Police has confirmed that his death is not believed to be suspicious.

The man has since been identified locally as the landlord of the flat above Subway.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 2pm yesterday (Sunday, September 6) to reports of a sudden death on Squires Gate Lane, Blackpool.

"We attended and found the body of a man, thought to be aged in his 50s, in a car.

"At this time we do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"Our thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this time."
