Man knocked unconscious in serious assault in Blackpool

A man is in a stable but serious condition in hospital today after being knocked unconscious in the street.

Police officers were called to an address on Lytham Road, Blackpool, following the assault close to the junction of Lytham Road and Bournemouth Road just before 7pm yesterday.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital.

Detectives are appealing for anybody with information about the incident to come forward.

PC Matt Duffy, of West CID, said: “A man has received significant injuries and we are investigating how he came about them. I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to contact the police. I would also ask anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage covering the area in and around that time to get in touch as soon as possible.”
