Man, 48, dies in paragliding accident

A man has been killed in a paragliding accident on Pendle Hill.

The 48-year-old from Lytham was on Well Springs, Sabden, near Clitheroe where he had been paragliding with a friend.

Initial reports suggest the man fell about 30ft to the ground after the canopy of his glider collapsed.

Police, paramedics, the air ambulance and mountain rescue teams attended and despite their best efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
