Major road closed after road traffic collision
A busy major road leading into Blackpool was closed this afternoon after a road traffic collision.
North West Motorway Police tweeted that officers were closing junction 4 of the M55 westbound towards Blackpool owing to an accident on Yeadon Way – the main route into Blackpool for thousands of Bank Holiday visitors.
It was later upgraded to the closure of a section of the A5230 in both directions.
It is believed that three vehicles were involved.
