Major Blackpool road closed after incident
A major road in Blackpool was closed by police early on Wednesday evening.
Photographs from the scene showed the A587 St Walburga's Road cordoned off close to the pelican crossing linking the Grange Park estate and the area adjacent to Layton Primary School.
It is understood the incident involved a pedestrian but no one from the police or ambulance service was immediately available to give any details as to what prompted the closure of the key road linking Marton and the area around Blackpool Victoria Hospital with Layton and Bispham.
