Lytham-based energy expert Inenco Group hosted its largest event to date at its head office, Ribble House.

The Summer Energy Forum was titled; 2020 and Beyond and was hosted by business correspondent, Jonty Bloom with a number of guest speakers including headline keynote speaker, former CBI Head Lord Digby Jones.

The forum attracted over 90 senior energy professionals across all business sectors, based all over the UK and even Europe with attendees from as far as Cornwall, North Scotland and even Italy.

Attendees were treated to an informative day and had the opportunity to network with like-minded energy professionals.

Lord Digby Jones’ presentation centred on wealth creation and how businesses creating wealth were necessary in order to maintain the public sector. He didn’t shy away from airing his opinion on the challenges that the UK faces with an aging population and fierce competition from inside and outside Europe.

Other guest speakers included Jeremy Nicholson from the Energy Intensive Users Group, National Grid, Energy Systems Catapult, Demand Response Expert and Inenco partner Limejump and Inenco industry experts who discussed hot topics such as energy policy, commodity prices, non-commodity costs and the use of data in achieving sustainability objectives.

Inenco Chief Commercial Officer David Cockshott said: “The aim of our Summer Energy Forum was to provide businesses with an update on key issues in the energy sector and we are delighted that so many of our customers made the journey to our head offices in Lytham for what was an insightful day.

“We have already started planning next year’s event with the aim of making it even bigger and better.”
