The group is working with Blackpool Combined Assocation (BCA) to host a fund raising ball to bring in funds to support the 2015 Illuminations.

The last few tickets are remaining for the annual Banquet And Ball event, in aid of the Blackpool Illuminations Fund, to be held at Viva Cabaret Bar on Friday night.

Organiser Shirley Hunt, chairman of the Friends, said: “It’s a good night out to support the Illuminations. All the money raised goes towards the Lights so we want people to get involved.

“It’s for the good of the town. Everyone knows we need them and when the budget’s been cut it’s more imperative than ever.

“And it’s just a good excuse to get dressed up and have a good time.”

The event has been run previously by holiday trade umbrella group BCA, with the Friends joining them last year for the first time.

The event on Fridaywill feature a free drinks taster session and complimentary wine as well as an envelope draw and raffles, and a three-course dinner at the cabaret bar on Church Street, Blackpool.
