Planning planning update on popular Garstang bar and new hair salon proposals

The building at 12 High Street, Garstang, was formerly a Barclays Bank branch, which officially closed on October 29 2021

An interactive darts and sports bar which opened in former bank premises in Garstang town centre in December has submitted a retrospective planning application.

But the plans are not for the bar itself but for a proposed new hair salon which will occupy the same building.

Treble20 opened last year in an empty bank building at 12 High Street after getting council consent to open as a bar.

Now the retrospective planning application has been submitted by applicant Declan Stephen for change of use of a former bank to a bar on the ground floor, hair salon on the ground floor and a wellness centre on the first floor.

Treble 20, which has a sister operation in the town – Nineteen Coffee & Cocktails Ltd – lodged the planning application last month.

Since opening, Treble20 has proved a great success, offering lanes of interactive darts which combine a traditional pub sport with new technology.

As well as a range of drinks at the bar, it also serves snacks to customers.

Mr Stephen said of the retrospective planning application this week: “The application is not for the bar itself, it’s for the hair salon which is part of the same building.

“I’m the landlord so the application is for the whole building.”

The property at 12 High Street, Garstang, was formerly a Barclays Bank branch, which officially closed on October 29, 2021.
